Mr.Tomás Montesinos Yépez, national of Peru, took the office as Electricity Coordinator of OLADE on Tuesday 26, 2008 at the headquarters of the Organization, located in Quito-Ecuador.
During the protocol ceremony, the Executive Secretary of OLADE, Mr. Carlos Arturo Flórez Piedrahita who welcomed Dr. Montesinos administered the oath of office in the presence of the Advisory Minister of the Embassy of Peru, Mr. Francisco Tenya Hasegawa, the Representative of the University of Calgary, Mr. Leda Sánchez, and the Directors, Coordinators and officials of OLADE.
Mr. Tomás Montesinos Yépez, expressed his commitment to work for the Organization and for the regional and sub-regional integration, pointing out that “innovation and knowledge sharing in our countries will complement our goals aimed at assessing and promoting cooperation and coordination for the member countries, so that in a nearer future we witness an interconnected Electric Power System in Latin America that connects all member countries of OLADE.”
Mr. Tomás Montesinos Yépez, is an Electricity Engineer specialized in Electrical Power Systems, graduated from the Universidad Federal Fluminense in Rio de Janiero, Brazil. He pursued a Master in Business Administration and 26 years of experience in the electrical power sector of Peru. He has worked in planning and power supply operation in the area of generation and distribution. He has been in charge of managerial, consultancy and assessment positions in public and private entities of the power sector.
