FIER 2006 was held in Mexico City on September 8. For most, it was considered a successful event for the participation of 22 Ministers, government authorities, more than 320 participants and more than 71 top level speakers.
During the Forum, bilateral and multilateral meetings were arranged among government representatives, delegates of public and private companies and businessmen.
The analized topics contributed to generate debate in the region over the following subjects:
- Integration as a mechanism for stimulating investments in infrastructure
- Natural Gas and Electricity Infrastructure Projects
- Vision by Private and State-owned Gas and Power Companies
- Vision of the integration process in Latin America and the Caribbean by regional entities
- Importance of Legal frameworks for energy integration
- Energy Conflict Resolution Mechanisms among countries
- Social and environment responsibility and vision of Energy Integration by the States and the Civil Society
