1. HOTEL

The hotels of the Dan Carlton chain are the official hotels of FIER 2007, located 15 minutes from the Plaza Mayor Convention Center, where the forum will be held.

The participants of FIER have an exclusive and preferential fee provided by these hotels.

  • Single Room: $99,00 + taxes
  • Double Room: $119.00 + taxes

Rate and Quota guaranteed until November 4th, 2007.

2. TRANSPORTATION

Transportation will be available from the hotels of the Dan Carlton chain to the Plaza Mayor Convention Center. The Schedule for leaving and returning to the hotel will be promptly announced.

3. LOGISTICS PROCEDURES:

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Colombia has instructed Embassies and Consulates of the Region to facilitate the processes of issuing Visas to the participants of FIER 2007 who may require it.

4. SPEAKERS:

5. REGISTRATION

IN-PERSON REGISTRATION:
Registrations are open one day before the beginning of FIER (Tuesday, November 27) at the precinct of the Forum.  Registrations depend on availability.

WHAT DOES THE REGISTRATION INCLUDE?

  • Accessing Ministerial Conferences
    All participants may access the conferences given by Ministers of Latin America and the Caribbean on topics regarding their vision with respect to the regional energy situation and integration process.
  • Social Events
    • Opening: Welcome Cocktail. Common activity for FISE, CONCIER and FIER.
    • Closing Ceremony: Speech by the President of Colombia. Common activity for FISE, CONCIER and FIER.
    • Invitation to Medellin Christmas Lighting:  All participants may attend the traditional Medellin Christmas Lighting, organized by local authorities.
  • Simultaneous Interpretation
    English speaking participants will have the opportunity to listen to all conferences in their own native language.
  • Access to the Institutional Exhibit and to the Electric Sector’s International Fair (FISE)
  • Internet
    FIER 2007 offers free Internet services. This service will be available at the business center (wire Internet) and at the Forum (wireless Internet).
  • Meals
    The registration fee for participants or speakers includes lunches, coffee breaks and appetizers during cocktails.
  • Event’s material When handing over the credential, the participants will receive information and support material for the event. At the end of the Forum, each participant will have access to the complete speakers’ presentations and proceedings of the event.
  • Medical Assistance Medical service will be available at the Convention Center Plaza Mayor
6. COST OF PARTICIPANTION

TOTAL REGISTRATION FEE 
US$ 400.00 for registrations up to October 30, 2007
US$ 450.00 for registrations after this date, subject to availability

7. COMPANIONS:

Companions of participants of FIER 2007 may enjoy several activities such as visiting touristic places, museums and shopping malls.    This service has an additional cost. Please check availability when registering to the event.

8. CLIMATE:

During the coldest months (from November to March), Medellín's lowest temperature is 10ºC (50ºF) while during the driest months (from June to August), the highest temperature is 30ºC (86ºF) due to global warming. 
The pleasant spring-like climate year round makes Medellin to be known as 'La Ciudad de la Eterna Primavera' or 'City of the Eternal Spring'.

9. CURRENCY:

Exchange of foreign currency is through official banks, money exchange offices or at hotels.
