The Latin American Energy Organization (OLADE) in coordination with the National Energy Commission (CNE) and the Canadian International Development Agency (ACDI), have organized the National Workshop: “Chilean Experience in the Energy Markets Operation”, that was hold on May 4, 2006.
The Executive Secretary of CNE, Mr. Pablo Serra Banfi, authorities and energy experts were present at the workshop, where they debated about the lesson learned by Chile in the energy market competition operation, after the inclusion of private stakeholders.
This activity is part of the project “Competition in Energy Markets”, carried out by OLADE with the financial support of ACDI, whose goal is to analyze the level of competition obtained in the operation of the energy markets in Latin America and Caribbean.
The conclusions reached in this workshop along with the conclusions obtained in the workshop about the Peruvian experience will be inserted in a regional report about energy markets, report that will include the conclusions obtained in the workshop about the Peruvian case, and the cases of Brazil, Chile, and Trinidad & Tobago where similar activities will be carried out soon. |
