Energy and environmental authorities and experts of Latin America and the Caribbean countries will meet in the "Latin American Carbon Forum ", on March 22 – 24, 2006, in Quito-Ecuador.
This meeting will analyze the technical possibilities of the Latin American and the Caribbean countries to undertake Clean Development Mechanism projects (MDL), as a tool to promote a model of sustainable development, as well as to present carbon market dynamics.
In the Forum authorities and delegates of promotional organisms of projects of renewable energy, energy efficiency institutions, urban and industrial management environmental, certificates buyers and design projects experts, will interact to share learned experiences, lessons and to promote MDL projects in the Region.
The Latin American Energy Organization (OLADE), in coordination UNEP/RISØ Centre, Bariloche Foundation (FB), the Inter-American Development Bank (I.A.D.B.), International Emissions Trading Association (IETA) and the Ecuadorian Environment Ministry, are the organisms that carry out the organization of this regional event, whose intention is to obtain the energy efficiency in Latin America and the Caribbean countries.
