During the RENPOWER Andes Investors 2020 the Olade Renewable Energies Panorama was socialized

On the morning of March 9, 2020 in the city of Quito-Ecuador, government leaders and personalities related to the energy sector met to learn about the landscape of Renewable Energies in the Andean Region, the regulatory frameworks and projects to be carried out in Ecuador.

The RENPOWER Andes Congress – Conference of Investors in Renewable Energies and Electrical Infrastructure 2020- served as a working table for potential foreign investors, who want to be part of unconventional Renewable Energy projects in the country, since the legal framework is improving for strengthen possible private sector investments.

The Director of Studies, Projects and Information of the Latin American Energy Organization (Olade), Andrés Schuschny, participated in the second session on investment opportunities in large and small-scale renewable energy projects – challenges and the future – presenting Olade’s Renewable Energies Outlook.

The event consisted of a total of 4 sessions where issues of interest to the energy sector were exposed.

RENPOWER Andes Investors 2020

RENPOWER Andes Investors 2020, was organized with the aim of introducing  to the Andean region, with special attention to Ecuador, the main government officials and stakeholders from the international market.

The Andean region has abundant natural resources to produce electricity from unconventional renewable energy. Most countries have developed policies for a dynamic market open to investors. In 2019, Ecuador announced a series of auctions totaling 500 MW combined in solar, wind, and mini-hydro projects.
