Description.-
Energy Efficiency is a set of actions that allow for the optimal use of energy, increasing the competitiveness of companies, improving the quality of life, reducing the costs and at the same time, cutting down on greenhouse gas production. These actions have the objective of raising awareness among the population about the benefits of using energy in a rational manner and at the same time, they seek to promote the use of efficient energy equipment and technologies for industry, trade and homes.
Nowadays, energy efficiency is considered a clean resource, which is locally available and ready to supply the increasing demand of energy; thus, contributing to sustainable development and assuring the supply of energy for the long-term. Energy efficiency, being the best option the countries have to mitigate climate change; OLADE, through the energy efficiency coordination promotes the use of this resource among its Member Countries.
Processes:
Objective:
Making energy efficiency a sustainable resource in Latin America and the Caribbean.
