FIRST INTERNATIONAL BIO-FUEL SEMINAR

The "First International Bio-fuel Seminar" was held on April 24 and 25, 2006, in Brasilia, Brazil.

This event, organized by OLADE in coordination with Brazilian Ministry of Mines and Energy, was attended by the Minister of that State portfolio and other authorities of the sector.

Due to the high demand for attendance applications, the addresses given during this event were broadcast via Internet to other countries of the region.

II LATIN AMERICAN AND CARIBBEAN BIO-FUEL SEMINAR

The II Latin American and Caribbean Bio-fuel Seminar was held on September 26 to 28, 2007, in San Salvador, El Salvador.

This event was organized by OLADE, co-organized by the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA) and United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), and sponsored by the Salvadorian ministries of economy and agriculture, with the technical support from Brazil's Ministry of Mines and Energy.

Attending the seminar was El Salvador's Minister of Economy and Agriculture, Yolanda Mayorga de Gavidia, authorities and officers of the region's ministries and secretariats of energy and agriculture, international agencies and institutions, investors, financiers, farmer association representatives, technology research centres, and subject-matter experts.

III LATIN AMERICAN AND CARIBBEAN BIO-FUEL SEMINAR

The III Latin American and Caribbean Bio-fuel Seminar was held on May 28-28, 2008, in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, and was organized by OLADE, the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA), and the host country's "Comisin Nacional de Energa" (CNE), with technical support from the Brazilian Ministry of Mines and Energy.

Over 300 agents involved in bio-fuel development attended this event, including the Secretary of State and President of the Comisin Nacional de Energa, Mr. Arstides Fernndez Zucco.
